In August, we hosted an afternoon session called Shape IT. This get together helped feedback on what we’d learnt at the Open Day. We also began to frame exactly how Ultimate Active was going to work.
Sounds easy doesn’t it?
In theory, yes!
But we wanted to make sure that all the young people who were interested in Ultimate Active really had a voice in the delivery of the activity clubs.
So Aiden and Jay set to work to give some structure to everyone’s thoughts and come up with a way to make it fun, not a ‘task’.
What did we do?
We ran a quiz of course! Full of fun facts about the glorious Isle of Wight, fun activity rounds and ridiculous riddles to make your brain whirr!
On the Shape IT agenda was also a chat about the club name and brand – should it stay as Ultimate Active or did everyone want it called something else? The Youth Panel was talked about and how everyone could get involved more positively with the Instructor team. Finally, Aiden and Jay got round to asking which days and times to run the club sessions would work best.
The result, an Ultimate Active club programme!
9.30am Mountain Boarding
11.30am Survival Skills
1.30pm Target Sports
… and as they say, ‘Watch This Space!’
